Chinese aerial work platforms are accelerating their overseas expansion, with Europe, America and Southeast Asia becoming the main purchasers of high-quality products
Driven by the global infrastructure boom, developed countries in Europe and America and emerging markets in Southeast Asia are becoming the core purchasers of aerial work platforms. Due to strict construction safety standards in Europe and America (requiring the use of professional equipment when the working height exceeds 5 meters), high-end models of straight boom and articulated boom (such as those over 23 meters) are continuously purchased for use in scenarios like building maintenance and film and television shooting. In Southeast Asia, due to the sharp increase in power and bridge projects, a large number of high cost-performance models made in China have been introduced, such as the waterproof ISUZU chassis products produced by Chengli Group (with a wading depth of 550mm) and XCMG intelligent lifting platforms.
As a supply chain hub, China's export volume is expected to increase by 30% year-on-year in 2024, relying on technological upgrades and cost advantages. Enterprises such as Chengli and Dongfeng have deeply met the demands of Europe and America through customized designs (such as windproof devices and remote control systems), and at the same time, taking the upgrading of county-level consumption as the domestic demand base (such as the demand for hoisting vehicles driven by home appliance delivery), they have driven the quality improvement and efficiency enhancement of the industrial chain. In the future, energy infrastructure in the Middle East and the urbanization process in Africa may become new growth poles.
